As a hospital CMC Union has a pretty good reputation in the area overall and I think they have made real improvements in the past few years. They still have issues, but so does every other hospital in Charlotte.

I can't agree. Not sure were you are getting that their rep is good, because I can't find anyone that will agree nor based on my on personal experices can I agree. And I am not just talking about the ER. The only other place that I can think of that's worse is Piedmont in Rock Hill.
Anyone that has been brought into an ER by Medic,
unconscious and unresponsive, should be triaged, put in a room and monitored. Not parked at receiving and left to wait while many not as serious cases were attended to. The night this happened there were open rooms and they weren't that busy, but they were pretty disinterested in doing their jobs. NEVER once did this happen at Pres-Matthews, we were quickly triaged and placed in a room or at least triaged and parked at the first available space, never just left to wait until "someone will be with you as soon as they can".
