I have used my skills to save companies money over the last 23 years; not with the same company over this time. Unfortunately I am on layoff due to the automotive industry decline and can't practice my profession; last one hired situation. I use the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology in conducting my projects but I am not "formally certified" and I do not say I am certified.

(BS Mech Eng, EIT, MBA, Minitab, database, AutoCAD, learning Finite Element Analysis and Industrial Refrigeration Design)

1 - Given the times and the supply of black belts in the market, will "black belt certification" help me get interviews? - Suggestions on companies that provide training? - {I know about ASQ resources}
2 - Given the times, are there any companies in the area I can do a six sigma project for to get me out of the house?

Suggestions and company ideas appreciated.
