Big cities all have little counties: Little Italy in NY.

Charlotte has Little Mexico (Central Ave.). I think Charlotte should bank on that.

I think that would be nice. Little Mexico would cause some groups not to associate there, some better marketing should be better, like the Latin American District or something along those lines. It would be a boost to the diversity to the Charlotte community. A Little India/India District would be nice too.

I would disagree that Central has a lock on Mexican culture here in Charlotte. South Boulevard's got some action going on.

^South Blvd. might, but it is not as concentrated as Central. Plus South blvd. has everybody on it.

I think the Central Ave corridor has a huge range of immigrants living along it, not just Mexicans. It's really become quite international over that way. I know there are a lot of Vietnamese there too.

I don't think we should bank on that. No disrespect meant, but I don't think we should should be proud of our illegal immigration problem. I have seen first hand how illegal immigration can ruin a city...lets not celebrate it. Little Italy or Chinatown is full of Legal Americans and our "Little Mexico" is not.
