I'm a musician hoping to relocate to NC in the near future. What is the Live Music scene like in and around Charlotte area? How about SC?

Thanks
Al

Sometime back (maybe a year?) one of the members here on board posted a ton of info on this subject. He put a lot of work into and I'm sure with a little digging you can find it in the "search".

Was it Carolina Blue??

Thanks John. I used advanced search on "any date" for both Charlotte and NC, on the topic of "music" and "music scene" and there was nothing in the search results. Hope I'm not mis-using the search feature, but I couldn't readilly find anything.

I appreciate the help...
Regards,
Al

Give your post a day or two and someone smarter than me will show up. I remember the post because it was so darn complete and I was amazed at the effort.

You can also check out Creative Loafing online. They list a lot of the venues around Charlotte for I think it's 10 days out. I don't know where you are coming from or what the live music scene is there, but IMO Charlotte has a pretty good one. And it seems to be pretty well supported too, as far as attendance is concerned.

Here are some previous threads (searched "Charlotte music" on the forum)

Googled "Charlotte music" and these are some results:

This is a list of bands in the Charlotte area (don't know how recent or complete!)

This site has a nice list of both performers and venues:

OMG Ellemaew, NCGirl, and Dakota4791!!

Thanks so much for the help and the links.

Looks like a vibrant music scene, to say the least. This is great news.

Any favorite bands/venues?

Thanks so much
Al

I cannot wait until Uptown Amphitheater at the NC Music Factory, and the Fillmore Charlotte at the NC Music Factory open...heck, the NC Music Factory will probably replace the Epicentre for my favorite hangout w/ these 2 live music venues as well as Crobar, Butter, and Wet Willies open up along w/ the currently openned Garden and Gun Club. It will also add an Irish Pub, a Brewpub, and a Sushi Bar in the future as well...even though it's off on it's own, that whole area is going to be awesome.

I could name tons of local bands that are worth checking out - depends on your taste in music. I don't have any complaints about the venues - they all have their pluses and minuses.
