Does anyone know just what is going on in Monroe?
Goldmine has been closed for a while now, putting an extra load on Airport Road. It doesn't look like it's going to be open anytime soon...although the original notice said it would be done by Sept 30 2009...LOL, I don't even think they had started by Sept. 30.
Sometime today Monroe Road has closed at Rocky River dumping even more traffic on Airport and Rocky River.
MLK extension to 84 still isn't open.
What they heck are they doing!?!?!

Airport to 84 was backed up over a mile at 4pm. The only way DH got out was that there was a police officer directing traffic on 84...but only until the firetruck behind DH was clear of the intersection...then the police car left and it all backed up again. We went at 5:30 to get DD from SPCC and it was just as bad. We had to go from there to CATA in Monroe so we drove all the way around to Wesley Chapel, back on 84 towards Monroe. We waited 10+ minutes to get through the Rocky River light, 40+ minutes total to get from SPCC to CATA. It was worse trying to get on 84 from Rocky River and longer yet on our way back through the other way. I'd say close to a mile and a half back up at least.

Does anyone know how long Monroe Road is going to be closed?
Is it too much to ask that they don't keep closing down roads before they have alternative routes open? Geesh...who the heck is planning out these projects!?!?

Don't know how long Old Monroe is going to be closed. My understanding is they were working on the railroad crossings on or near Rocky River today. Hopefully it is a short lived closure. I live off of Airport Rd and traffic this afternoon was backed up from the stop sign on 84 almost all the way back Airport Rd to Sanford Rd because people couldn't take Rocky River so they were taking Airport instead.

Thanks...hopefully they'll be done soon.

I'm going to call *whoever* tomorrow and suggest they put a police officer at that intersection to direct traffic. It was pretty bad.
