Not without paying for it. There are tons of ads for "free" credit scores / reports, but in the very fine print you must subscribe to some credit monitoring crap that you dont need or some other b.s. that is useless.

Jay is only partly right. You can get a free credit report. More information can be found here:

Free Credit Report Rollout Begins Wednesday

However, I don't know of anyway to get the FICO score for free other than signing up for things like Equifax monitoring 30 day trial and then making sure to cancel it before you are charged. More information can be found here:

Stay away from companies that you see on TV.

Actually yes there is.

This was as per the wall street journal. Free Credit Score & Free Credit Reports. No Credit Card Needed

They will try to recommend credit offerings to you based on your score, but is completely free.

You should understand, though, that the score on Credit Karma is not your FICO score which is what you asked for in your OP. It gives your TransUnion score. More information can be found here: Free Credit Scores - Review of CreditKarma.com Free Credit Score Site.

That's very true, though over the years I have found the Transunion score to be fairly accurate to my true FICO score.

This is a bit of a round about way. But when I was house shopping last February '09, I went to an event sponsored by Ryan (at one of their developments) where they discussed the "First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit."

They gave a quick 30 minute run down focused specifically on the tax credit.

Then offered to run my credit report and give me the score free of charge.

Of course they were looking for a sale, and at the time I was still "looking" but I ended up walking away with some free cookies and juice, my full credit report with 3 scores and a 25 dollar gift card I won from the "door prizes" all and all it was a good experience.

I purchased my house in April '09 but it might be worth checking around to see if there's anything similar, I imagine developers are still seeking out clients and willing to front the 15 or so dollars. But just like the Free Ben and Jerry's Cone you have do decide for yourself what your time is worth.

Yep, definitely true but wanted to make sure the OP understood that.

I used to know a lot about credit reports, I was a leasing analyst for a small corporation. Pulled them all the time.

The Federal Trade Commission's Information on Free Annual Credit Reports
Not sure if this is FICO, or FAKO. Not sure what the difference in those two acronyms is.

here's another one.

I would ABSOLUTELY advise against doing this! The reason they were able to give you your scores and report is because they ran an inquiry on your credit. An inquiry (or inquiries) can drop your score. It would be a much better idea to pay for the score than to take the chance of dropping your score with an inquiry- especially when you have no intention of making a purchase.
