No matter what anyone tells you here, you can't get a free FICO score. The ones that say they are "free" are always signing you up to some monthly service that you have to pay for.
You can get a free "credit report" from the government, but that doesn't include a score, just credit accounts you have.
A FICO credit score costs about $12 each and there are three companies: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Just spend the $40 and save yourself the hassle of signing up for something you don't want.

I got one when I applied for my home loan. Don't you usually get one if you have been denied a loan as well?

They are required to give you a "credit report" when you get denied for a loan but it doesn't include a FICO credit score.

I know this is an old thread, but I found it when I was looking to see if the Barclay's announcement had been posted elsewhere.
Barclay's and Walmart offer their credit card holders free access to their credit score (this is a FICO 2008 classic score based on TransUnion data).
FICO Score | Doctor Of CreditDoctor Of Credit is a good resource for a number of other ways to get a free FICO score. My only issue is that some of them suggest signing up for credit monitoring programs which can be hard to cancel.

We got one too when we applied for a loan on the home we are building, however, we are paying for it in the closing costs.
