Help with Preschools and Therapists for Autism (Charlotte, Matthews: insurance, house)

I have a 2 yr old with autism. We are moving from MI to NC in May. I need to find awesome PT, OT and speech therapists in the Union County area and also a preschool for 2 yr olds with autism or an ABA program. Any info would be great!!

Achieve Therapy Services in Matthews offers speech and OT at their clinic. They have many autisitic clients and are highly regarded. They can probably help you with referrals to other professionals.

Not sure where in Union County yet. We are sort of thinking we might move wherever the best services are. I really want to get him in a preschool that concentrates on autism or any sort of special needs preschool.

This isn't Union County, but the people I just bought my house from moved to Clover, SC because of their excellent autism programs in the school. It might be a bit far out though for you.

Charlotte physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy is located in Charlotte. They have an excellent variety of speech pathologist as well as occupational therapist. They also have child psychologist and physical therapists on staff.

My son has been going there for 5 years and he has showed great improvement.

They also accept most insurance programs.

You know, NC is the home of TEACCH. ABA has been slow to gain acceptance despite its excellent results and good research base.
