Hi. I am visiting Chattanooga and am looking for a nice local restaurant to eat breakfast. Any recommendations for a restaurants in the downtown area?

My husband and I love downtown Chattanooga and visit often. Our favorite breakfast is Rembrandt's Coffee House in the Bluff View Art District. Unless the weather is horrible, we eat in the courtyard. Have fun!

Blue Plate down by the aquarium, right on the river on Chestnut Street. An old fashisoned diner experience, but the diner is pretty modern. The other recommendation I have heard is Aretha Frankensteins on Tremont, just across the river.

Bluegrass Grill hands down the best in my opinion! They are on the southside of downtown. Here is their address/info>>

Bluegrass is locally owned & operated. These folks cook great food! The whole family works there & they are all so nice & dedicated. Some of my favorite dishes are their Mediterranean Frittata, Cilantro Lime Tofu Hash, every omelette & Blintzes with fresh fruit. Also, they have the most wholesome delish Biscuits. I order a side of gravy to top mine with!! It's best to get there before 9am if eating on Saturday morning to avoid waiting for a table.

Don't laugh, but you just can't go wrong with "Waffle House"!!! My wife and I have eaten at most of them in the Chattanooga area; some, many times. They are always easy on your wallet.

Joe Friday's at MLK & Houston St. It's a small, unique coffee shop/cafe type place set to an Alaskan theme. Their smoothies are good, and the salmon bagel is delicious if that's your thing. They also have a lot of good reviews online.
