Hello!
My boyfriend, and daughter, and I were looking into movin to Chattanooga next year. It is a fairly random move for us however, im freakin excited! lol. I was just wondering for everyone who moved there from out of state, What was the biggest change for you? Do you like it? Why?
I am from Oakland CA. My boyfriend is from Denver CO. We are living in Denver now (I moved here 2 yrs ago.) I like it but we were really lookin at chattanooga and think we may love it there! Let me know what you think! Also how are the elementary schools there? What are the best areas to move to for raising families?

Hello,

My husband and i just moved here from Arizona and we love it! Its so pretty and laid back (compared to where we came from) and reasonable to live (housing). The terraine is so beautiful, I think that is my favorite thing about this area, the mountains are beautiful and the riverfront is also.

Good choice!

Were from San Diego and Southern Utah so we somewhat understand where you lived before. We really like it out here. I was lucky and found a cool job and someone to rent to us even though we have several dogs.

My gosh - you have a cool job and a place that accepts several dogs - why move? It could be a challenge relocating on both counts.

Default Chattanoga

Hey,
Probably no real relevance to today, but I went to Univ of Tenn at Chattanooga in the mid 70's. I was great, but I was 17 and 500 miles from home. I thought then, that Chattanooga was more modern than I was anticipating. My father had grown up in the Chattanooga area in the 1920s, so the stories I had listened to seemed to mimic the Our Gang series of yesteryear.

The mountain area around Chattanooga are great to explore. Lots of history and many areas to enjoy without civilization over powering you.

There's a main corridor (highway) that can get you straight to Atlanta and past to Florida. South Carolina has its charms is easy to reach.

Lookout Mountain was my favorite place to go. We'd always take our girlfriends up on top at night and hang out....look at the lights, river and down in the valley, one could hear if not see the locomotives and their rail cars moving in the night.
