How miserable do you think someone from Northern Indiana is going to be during the summer in Chattanooga? Is it the kind of humidity that lasts all day and makes it hard for you to breathe when you walk out your door? We have those days up here but not a lot of them. We just stay inside that day. But I don't want to move somewhere that we don't want to go outside all summer.

Cool Where live.?

..M.: I guess it may depend on where you would live in Hamilton County..Right in the city limits should
be quite hot .. We had a few record days last summer at 107 degrees.

. If you are in the shaded woods of northern county near the lake for swimming, then you have some recreation.. There are hiking trails to the swimming creeks along route # 27... The region from Chattanooga to Knoxville is also a high Allergy region if you suffer from different trees.??

I'm from Indianapolis and it doesn't really compare. Summers in Indy can be hot and humid, but both the heat and humidity are worse here. As the previous poster noted, it was 107 here at times last summer, and that was not with the heat index which brought it up around 114.

No, not all summer, for heat like that. Humidity, it sticks around. There are some summer days that are just right.

You can use this as a more definitive guide:

Average Weather for Indianapolis, IN - Temperature and Precipitation

Average Weather for Chattanooga, TN - Temperature and Precipitation

The average daily high in July & Aug is 6 degrees higher than Indy. That is substantial in my book.

When we moved from Miami it wasn't a problem. Then again, we lived in the humidity capital of the USA. Yes, it gets humid, but as with all the seasons here, they are temporary and change happens every three months or so.
