Any OHV engines are bulletproof and long-lasting quality, actually, doesn't matter which brand. People are just saying nonsense with fear here that there won't be any better than 3800, but in my experience, there are brand-new vehicles with OHV engines that are more durable and better than 3800, actually. The best example would be Chevrolet Silverado HD series truck with 6.0L V8 OHV engine. The new OHV engines also rust less too than 3800, due to improved manufacturing process.

In addition, brand-new 2019 5.7L V8 HEMI from Chrysler (in Ram trucks and Charger) will easily last just as long (or maybe outlast) as any GM 3800.

Younger people are not buying, that's why. They get priority for new car sales before baby boomers now.
