Hope it doesn't catch fire like the other trucks.

Pretty excited to see what the EPA numbers are on this truck. Pretty disappointed (like usual) by the lack of a manual offering.

Not too sure on the 6 speed auto they are offering for it.

Chevrolet Introduces Colorado Duramax Diesel

It doesn't look like you can get the diesel in the extended cab though....only crew cab :/

I think it is a good idea. I see so many people talk about wishing smaller trucks and SUV's had a diesel. Even if it is not the biggest market segment, they will instantly have cornered it. The trucks are already a run away success, so they might as well capitalize on it before others enter the market.

I'm with you, however let's face it, manual has become a niche feature.

Not sure if it will be a big seller lots of people were excited about the 3.0 Eco-diesel in the Ram 1500 yet they are now having a hard time moving them esp. since the price the 1/2-ton is reaching the price of Ram 2500HD 3/4 ton with a 6.7 Cummins Turbo diesel.

I have had a hard time finding the actually sales / take rate for the 1500 diesel. Granted you don't HAVE to get the Ram 1500 diesel in the highest trim level. You can still get it in the Tradesman and keep the price in the low 30s.

Not certain which Car Magazine or Magazines but I do remember reading about a year ago the Diesel was part of General Motor's original plan with the return of the Canyon / Colorado.

That is one very sharp looking truck, both inside and out . . . I would definitely purchase one in a heartbeat if I only had the room for another vehicle.

Many who say that though is wanting a work truck which isn't what GM is going to offer.

2016 Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon Duramax Diesel Pricing and Details

All this, plus a required safety package (forward-collision and lane-departure alerts; $395) and convenience package (rear-window defroster with sliding glass, fog lamps, remote start, damped tailgate; $690) brings the diesel’s base price to $33,520 for the Chevy and $34,875 for the GMC. For reference, those prices are for the LT and SLE 4×2 short-bed models.

That's an awful lot of money for a "small" truck.
