Hi there,

My husband found a job in Deerfield and now we are looking for a place to live. Which private/public Middle Schools and High Schools are the best close by? Do any offer the IB program?

Thanks,
Biba999

According to this website Deerfield hs is one of the tops in Illinois. I suggest you look for a house right in Deerfield. If you can't find something suitable there, Highland Park would also be nice. There is no need to go farther as these communities are some of the nicest you will find. Home prices may tend to be high especially in Highland Park.

For public high schools, Deerfield and Stevenson are in the top five in the state. Highland Park and Libertyville are also excellent options. Vernon Hills is a bit lower, but still good. Housing doesn't come cheap in these areas (VH is the cheapest) and taxes can be a killer, especially in Deerfield, HP, and Stevenson's boundaries (Buffalo Grove north of Lake-Cook, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, and part of Vernon Hills). But they are all excellent schools.

Don't fool yourself, taxes will be high anywhere there are good schools.
