Schaumburg seems to be a stable area with good schools and decent taxes. Why are the housing values going down?

I wonder the same thing, to be honest. It seems like Schaumburg is only Woodfield, but I know there is more to it!

Wld be nice to see a breakdown of both nine county areas. The train didn't mention and the star listed only 5 I believe. That Hendricks number pretty steep at minus 8.

I am thinking of buying. I haven't purchased yet. I was thinking the large amount of retail and business that call Schaumburg home could keep the taxes low but I worry about house value.

That would be nice. Either way I was a little surprised to see the Chicago area surpassing the Indy area by quite so much in the past year especially considering all I hear is doom and gloom about Illinois. As expected, not a peep from my pal McD Indy after I posted those articles....

Schaumburg does not really have many luxury homes. The problem I see with Schaumburg is that its popularity reached an apex back in the seventies or maybe the eighties where it was the "it" place to move to in the suburbs. Now the homes there are dated, it has no real town area to speak about, Woodfield Mall is not the place it used to be because people are shopping on line. Napeville is kind of the Schaumburg of the present day so the spotlight is off of it and the popular places to live are now different.
