Peapod is good if you need lots of bottled water, cat litter, and canned beverages and you do not live in a traditional SFH. Otherwise not so much.

They will deliver boxes of vegetables to your door weekly/biweekly/monthly etc. They are a pretty good deal, if you like eating a variety of vegetables. You don't have to tip either as they generally leave them there like 4-5 in the morning.
Would this still apply if you live in a secured apartment building that doesn't allow deliverypeople in without your permission?

Interesting idea. Any idea of the names of a few of these places?

He is talking about CSAs. Generally, you pick them up from a community center in the area.

They are fairly expensive and you have no control on what they bring to you on a weekly basis. In other words, you get rutabagas whether you care for them or not.

I can do most of my grocery shopping at Target. Their newer, and newly remodeled, stores have an expansive collection of packaged goods, including frozen and refrigerated items. Sure, you can only choose from 50 kinds of cereal, instead of the 200 at Jewel, but it is consistently cheaper. Also, many Targets, and all of the ones in the city, are getting a fresh market section, with a small range of fresh meat, produce and bakery items. It's not going to be a full line supermarket, but you should be able to find almost everything you need most of the time. And it's all conveniently located at Roosevelt and Clark.

Roosevelt and Clark is quite a jaunt for me, coming from River North, but I suppose it's a possibility. I'll have to scope it out sometime this week. Thanks for the heads up!

There's also a Target at Elston and Logan Blvd., though that one is probably easier to get to if you have a car.
