It doesn't necessarily have to be a dive bar, but something that will be less than $100 for two people after a few drinks. Also, planning on going to Chicago during St. Patty's day. Not a fan of extremely ultra chic crowded bars where it takes 20 minutes to get served, but not sure if this can be avoided? Suggestions would be helpful, thanks!

Streeter's Tavern on Chicago Ave (about 1.5 blocks west of Michigan Avenue) is probably the closest thing to a Dive off of the Magnificent Mile.

I'm sure you are aware St.Paddy's Day in Chicago is on the 12th so more of a fyi...have run into people from out of town on the 17th (actual St. Pat's Day) who specifically came to Chicago for St. Pat's Day and they were disappointed (no parade)....

Isn't there a total dive on State between maybe Kinzie & Grand on the west side of State? Don't know if there is even a name on it, but I remember being in there - authentic dive bar...much divier than Streeters...

That bar is Rossi's, 412 N. State St. And if you like dives, you'll love this place. I actually went there with a few friends on New Year's Eve and had a ball. Good juke box, a curved bar (so you can see everyone!), and a very fun woman bartender. Go.

That is the name, I think the name is painted/faded somwhere on exterior and yes, it is a fun place...I was there a couple/few times and enjoyed it...probably good on St Paddy's Day.

Monk's is kind of a fun, divey place, but it's a few blocks over from Michigan Avenue, so don't know how much that helps you.
