Hi,

Does anyone know the advantages/disadvantages of using ZIP CAR vs. I-GO CAR?

Car Sharing, an alternative to car rental and car ownership – Zipcar

I-GO is typically slightly less expensive, but has less variety in the types of cars (would you like a Honda Civic or Toyota Prius?) to pick from and (in most neighborhoods) fewer cars period.

ZipCar is typically a little more expensive, but has a wider range of car models to choose from (Honda Civics to Mazda 3s to Toyota Priuses (or is that Prii?) to MINIs to BMW 3-series to Audi A3s), and usually has more cars in a given area.

I have card for both, but I can't remember the last time I used the iGo one.

I also think one requires an annual membership and the other doesn't.

I thought they both had a membership, but they often run promotions where they wave the fee or offer free credits or something like that. Personally I'd just pick what is more convenient for you. My neighborhood seems to have more I-Go cars, some have more Zipcars.
