my Son turns 6 tomorrow and I want to buy him a really cool birthday cake. He is into Thomas the train, super heroes, cars..
Where can I go and buy pre made cakes with typical kids themes without having to pre-order them first. Is it even possible?
I live in Ravenswood/Andersonville area and currently I don't have a car but I don't mind taking public transportation to get where I need to be.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

What about the Swedish bakery in Andersonville. I do not know if you can get a kids cake there that is cool on short notice but you might be able to get a very good cake. Probably the places that have the cool cakes premade are frozen and day glo and not very good as cakes. Possibly you can get a nice cake and then go to Jewel or the like and buy candles and maybe those wax figures that maybe you can stick on the cake.

Don't forget the party hats and play pin the tail on the donkey and clothes pin bottle drop, and musical chairs. I enjoyed those when I was six which was some half a century ago.

A clothes pin bottle drop - LOL! I remember doing that at birthday parties, too. You had to kneel on a kitchen chair and drop a wooden clothes pin (do they even still make them??) into an empty glass milk bottle. Wow, love it!
