Train from my hotel to airport with my luggage?

I'm worried about possible being mugged (not joking)
I took a cab from the airport to get to my hotel but I heard it's far cheaper to take the train, will it be safe for me?

I'm serious not trollig

Honestly it is much easier just to take the cab so you don't have to try and carry all your bags on and off the train etc.
Personally if I knew I was going to take the train to the city I packed one bag that was a carry on so I did not have to keep track of any others.

If you have to say you are being serious, your not being serious.

The trains are safe. You're worrying about nothing. I hope you realize how many people, especially tourists from the airports, ride these routes everyday without incident. I ride the train system everyday and have never even close to been mugged on any line, even while going through bad areas which these routes don't do much of.

Your chances of getting mugged are quite low, and, if it makes you feel any better, I recently took the Orange Line to Midway, and virtually everyone in train car with me either had large pieces of luggage or carryon bags.
