I will be going to the auto show on a Sunday with a guest from out of town. We will have some time between the show in the morning and dinner in the evening. What would be something to do downtown on a Sunday or on the north side? Something potentially more relaxed like a beer tasting or something since the auto show will probably be an energy drain if we spend a lot of time there.

I went to boat show a few weeks ago and my family and I went downtown to Pizzeria Due for dinner after the show. Pizzeria Due has the best Chicago pizza you'll ever have. You could also go to Pizzeria Uno or Eataly which are right down the street from Pizzeria Due. Pizzeria Uno is owned by the same owner as Pizzeria Due and is also very good. I've never been to Eataly, but I've always wanted to and have heard great things about it.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I guess we could also check out the Violet Hour, never been there either and its easy to get to from downtown. Any other ideas? (Doesn't have to include booze lol).

Are you one of those people who thinks it has better pizza than Uno because of a different type of water pipes in the building or something? (Honest question. I'm curious.)

Ha ha no I'm not one of those people. I think Pizzeria Due and Pizzeria Uno both have excellent Chicago pizza.

You can head to Lagunitas Brewing on 18th and Washtenaw, about 20 minutes away from McCormick Place. Great beers.

Yeah, but you said Due is the best, so I'm just curious to know what makes it better. (I've never been to Due, but I've been to Uno. It's alright, but I wouldn't put it up there with Malnati's or Giordano's as far as the major touristy deep dish spots go.)

Due is definitley better than Giordano's. I never been to Malnati's before, so I don't know if it's better than Due. I like Due better than Uno because the pizza tastes better.

Even though it's the same company following the same recipe with the same ingredients as across the street? Must be those water pipes.

Why does everyone have to talk about killing when they come to Chicago?
