Hey me and my friend we'll be in New York for ten days around 23rd of May and then we plan on flying to Chicago to visit for 4days since i plan on moving there in September!

So i was wondering if any of you could recommend me safe, cheap hotels to stay at which are located along the Michigan avenue, close to the millenium park?!
I hear best western is a good option?! Any other ones?

oh and i was kinda wondering, does anyone know what the temperature will be like around that time of month?

Thanxx for all your help

That's a pretty busy tourist time, so deals on hotels may be few and far between.

The weather should be very nice around that time- but that could mean anything from 65-90 haha. probably upper 70s- but who knows!?!

As far as hotels go, that's really the most expensive part of town. hotels.com and such are probably your best bet.

Accuweather.com does a 15 day forecast, so 2 weeks from your trip you can get a better idea of what to expect.

if you don't really care what hotel you stay at I would suggest using hotwire.com. They don't tell you the name of the hotel before you book but they give a few pieces of vital information. First off, they tell you the location, so there won't be any major surprises there.

But the most important piece of info they give you is the tripadvisor.com rating. You can then take that rating and see on tripadvisor what people are saying about hotels that have that many stars. If it's really bad, don't book it.

You can often get a great deal this way, though typically it's better for last minute travel.

I have to travel to Chicago for work once every couple months, and we always stay in "vacation rentals," not hotels. They are (usually) FAR cheaper. Craigslist has a TON of listings devoted to this, in housing under the subcategory vacation/short-term rentals.

I've stayed at most of the big hotels and, IMO, many of the vacation rentals we've stayed in have been nicer. Many of them have been gorgeous highrises with incredible views and top-of-the-line amenities for as little as $80/night. As I said, my company usually just goes through Craigslist, but perhaps some locals know the names of companies that cater to short-term stays.

I don' t know much about hotels, but the weather could end up to be a bit cool. Pack long pants and a sweatshirt. While the weather can be nice, it could also be much cooler by the lake, and once the sun goes down it could very well get chilly.. Not to mention that lake wind!

That's good advice. That time of year, it can be in the upper 70's in the burbs, but still around the low 60's near the lake.
