I have a female friend who is very concerned about safety and likes easy street parking I am not finding anything on CG, hot pads or apartment.com

Has anyone seen any studios north of Addison south of Lawrence east of California and west of Ashland for less than 780 in a nice friendly building with wood floors.

Also open to area by Laramie and Addison area. I told her to also walk and see. If apartments have signs in areas she wants.

Pick one:

1) Easy street parking
2) North side living

Seriously though. I live in Bridgeport and can find a parking spot 90% of the time right in front of my building. Every time I venture north, I have to search for a long time to find a spot. No way I could deal with that every day.

If you get further north into Edgewater, Rogers Park, and West Ridge, parking seems better.

yes, you're right that the parking in those areas is not that bad. Edgewater or Rogers Park parking is much tougher. Tough budget, walking around and looking for signs is probably the only way to find something.

You JUST moved here. Don't try to be an expert on the north side when you don't even live up here. You are dead wrong about parking in Edgewater and Rogers Park.

Supervisor lives in Edgewater and has easy parking, but his street is more single family homes. Parking can vary from block to block.

if youre trying to find free parking east of broadway in edgewater youre gonna have a bad time. this is doubly worse in the winter.

my suggestion would be she needs to either ditch the car if she wants to embrace the city life. theres not much reason to live up this way and then have to worry about the hassle of a car when public transit is so good and shops are so close. if you do need a car, my suggesion would absolutely be to factor in paying for a reserved spot with your building.

also, that rent is going to be difficult to find south of lawrence anyway. you might be able to find something, but its going to be spartan. example:

going north of lawrence will give her better bang for her buck

Generally it gets easier the further away from the lake you go.

i know the areas I am thinking that the sweet deals in good builldings are not listed like you would have to walk around and call the numbers on buildings and get luck. I did it in the past I guess that is the only thing to do, I appreciate suggestion but is not in the boundries.

McKinley Park is safer than the northside, and has good transit at around 600 for a studio.
