Will be making a trip to Chicago in near future to spend a day of medical testing at Northwestern. My daughter and I want to have a really nice meal. Will probably be there for lunch, but are open to dinner. Would sure appreciate suggestions.

Don't mind pricey, but don't want to be thrown into shock either.

Thanks!

Since you must have checked the sticky post about food and not liked any of the answers there, I'll suggest a couple of top-secret places known only to Chicagoans:

Sayat Nova

and

Cafe Iberico
http://www.cafeiberico.com

and

Twin Anchors
Twin Anchors Restaurant & Tavern (Chicago, Illinois)
(Twin Anchors is only open for dinner on weekdays. Get the ribs.)

The Northwestern Hospital Campus is east of North Michigan Ave, plenty of place to eat, though most are quite pricey. Any food preference or budgetary guidelines would help narrow this down. Literally HUNDREDS of place, some would be $100+ even for lunch, while there are also some quick service places where you could get change back from a $10...

Thanks for the suggestions. Daughter loves Italian food.

Thanks..Middle of the road. Don't mind a $20 lunch, but no way I'm spending $100.

We love good Italian, but stuffed crust pizza isn't an option. I'm from St. Louis and the ONLY way we eat pizza is thin crust.

I've eaten at La Scarola many times, and it is amazing... my favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago. It's not walkable from where you'll be (Northwestern Hospital) but it's not a far cab drive, like 10 minutes and $8 each way. I'd go for it if I were you.
