well, I've been trying to find something about the shooting in the news and haven't seen anything (granted, not every incident hits the media). hopefully that means the guy lived since I assume a murder would have been reported (or if the victim was in critical condition). from the info my friend gathered (not very much) the shooting appeared to have happened at a party/outdoor barbecue after an intense argument. it sounds weird to say, but I'm glad this was a domestic issue and not a case of a random shooting or drive-by. it's the random stuff that worries me the most

Back in like 96 a stray bullet killed some girl from school doing her homework...3rd floor apartment right on Albany and Ainsle.
That made me sad.

Yes Albany Park, I remember it well. Before it was another "hood." I remember a bookie being found dead in the trunk of a car. That and a "riot" occuring after Roosevelt beat Von Steuben in basketball, ending a long losing streak with the Panthers. Otherwise, it was pretty much like Leave it to Beaver and Donna Reed all wrapped up in one. I played lots of fast pitch and 16 inch softball at Roosevelt. The area north of the school was a playground then. Don't know if this has much to do with anything, but I get sentimental sometimes about the old neighborhood.
