Hi all,
I will be in Chicago soon and here is my itenerary the first day:
Arrive at 9am at Ohare. Take train to the loop and go to field museum and possibly shedd aquarium. Then take a train back to Bucktown at 6pm to meet my friend after they get off work. I'm looking for a place to store my luggage during this time. Any suggestions/ideas?

My friend will already be at work when I arrive so stopping by their place to drop it off isn't an option.

Thanks.

I think your best bet is to take the Blue Line to Union Station and store them at a locker there. They have lockers that you can rent (by the hour I believe, not sure about by the day), and I know lots of people that have used them for a layover storage place for luggage. You could take the train in, store your luggage at Union Station, then do the Museum and Shedd, come back and get your luggage and proceed onto Bucktown. It will obviously add travel time onto your trip, but it's worth it not to have to schlep some bags around all day.

Have your friend mail you a key or leave a key to his/her place somewhere?

Go into a large hotel but sort of look like you already belong there. This is easy at a place like the Hilton with many entrances. Take your luggage to the bell stand and say "I've already checked out but my flight is later in the day." Watch while the bellman takes your bags to a nearby closet or cart and gives you claim checks. Tip him $1/bag when you return.
