SoCal will never be Chicago, but on the other hand Chicago will never have the shoreline that CA does. There are some awfully nice parks and beaches in Oceanside and in Vista. There is a lot of miss in Chicago, and a lot to enjoy in California.. Catalina, Carmel, Palm Springs, SD Zoo, I always liked the idea I could buy an avacado the size of a softball or 10 limes for $1 whe the same thing in illinois would have cost closer to $10. Chicago and SoCal are two different worlds. You are lucky to have one foot in both. . .

Mmm, I feel your pain. I could live in Chicago, whereas here in Los Angeles it seems that I merely get by.

I love the natural features of the California coast... I love the urban features of Chicago.

I'm thankful that SoCal will never be Chicago, or I would have to leave Los Angeles!

Yeah, I know - wouldn't it be AWFUL to never have to shovel snow and live through a long, gloomy winter again?

Between the forest fires, mudslides and earthquakes, I don't really believe LA to be more popular.

That is true. I would hate to be told I have to leave my house every year because of a mudslide or forest fire.
