I could never eat at a place called "Art of Pizza". Now a place called "Art's Pizza", yeah.

Well there's Pizza Art Cafe, but no Art, only Jasko.

I do highly recommend Art of Pizza. It's not a corny or pretentious place as the name would suggest. Just a regular joint with really good pizza.

I agree that Art of Pizza is the best, and the fact that you can stop in for a slice is great. The name is kind of weird though. When I first moved to Chicago I lived a few blocks from there and didn't go in for the longest time because I figured it must suck with a name like that. Boy was I wrong.

The owner's name is actually Art. The feller with the glasses who often works the counter is Oscar, both of them have been there since it opened, in maybe 87 or 88.

I love that the price of a slice didn't increase for about 20 years - I don't think it's even close to the greatest pizza, but for a slice joint, it's tops.

well, here's the downside - they close stupid-early by pizza joint standards.

fortunately, the Chicago's on Lincoln (about 2 blocks away) sells slices/delivers until 4 (or is it 5?) an on weekends.

anyone remember the original Chicago's when it was just north of Pat's pizza on Sheffield? I think "Shirts on Sheffield" took the space in the mid-90s.

props for the phrase "jaspers."

I have no idea what it means, which means when I decide to throw that at someone this weekend (preferably after numerous beverages), it'll be even funnier.
