I will be traveling to Chicago next week. I will be there from the 28th to either the 1st or 2nd. So I am wondering what should I do?

Heres my list so far:

Navy Pier
Millennium Park
Ginos East
Mr. Beef
The Underground Chicago (club)
Take the subway from my hotel to downtown (we dont have subways in Kansas City)

Thats all I have so far so please help me out. Also not sure if it matters but I am staying at the Aloft Hotel in Rosemont.

If you call it "the subway", you will immediately be recognized as a tourist. This ain't New York. We call our rapid transit system "the El".

Check out The Alley Chicago and all the other business near the corner of Clark and Belmont. Ragstock is awesome. Down the street, there's also Philly's Best which has good deep dish pizza.

However, make sure you don't leave the city without trying our thin crust pizza too..

Navy Pier is overrated and Lou Malnatti's is better than Gino's East.
Also, most of the trip from Rosemont to Downtown wont be a "subway", most is at grade in the middle of the I90/94.

Well as far as the public transit is concerned here in Kansas City all we have is a very small bus line. We dont have any form of subway, light rail, street car, troll.....Pretty much nothing thats associated with big metropolitan cities.

For the thin crust pizza any specific places?
I also heard chicago has some good hot dogs?

Just for the record, I disagree that Navy Pier is overrated - especially if we're talking about someone from Kansas City who's looking to get a "feel" of Chicago. The only problem with Navy Pier is that everything is overpriced.

Take the Metra Electric down to Richton Park (a suburb). Walking distance from the train station is Chicago Dough Company. They have some of the best thin crust pizza you'll ever taste, in my humble opinion.

And yes, Chicago has good hot dogs. They sell 'em at our gyros joints.

You should check out the view from the observation deck at the top of the John Hancock Center (or Willis Sears Tower). Both will give you an awesome view of the city.

A fun neighborhood to walk around is Lakeview. Checkout the corner of Belmont and Broadway and walk up and down Broadway. Lots of cool shops, cafes, and restaurants and young folks your age everywhere. Also, you can walk to Wrigley Field from that location (10 to 15 minute walk).
