Can you park downtown for a week if you put 7 guest stickers on a car that is from another town?

I am sure there are times when no parking is allowed anytime (like rush hour.) When you mean "downtown" where exactly are you talking about? Some people's idea of downtown is not exactly what downtown really is...

Wrigleyville. My GF is driving to the city and needs to park for 5 days while we are on vacation. I was going to slap 5 stickers on there. One for each day. I wanted to see if that is allowed.

If I understand correctly you are suggesting that you would "pre date" the stickers. I don't know if the City would issue some sort of ticket if they catch you doing this. I don't know anyone who has ever done it. You could call the Alderman's office and inquire (actually call a few aldermans offices and compare answers).

*edit*

I see you mean Wrigleyville. Wrigleyville is nowhere near downtown.

I know that the doing what you describe violates the spirit of the law, but I'm not sure if it violates the letter of it. I lived on Southport for a while, and people tried it. It would probably work, but my experience is from prior to the whole parking meter sales and budget crisis, so it could be different now.

Technically, it's illegal. People do it all the time and rarely get ticketed, but you can still be ticketed for it. Especially now that the city is trying to get as much revenue as possible.

He's probably a suburbanite. I've observed that many suburbanites use the term "downtown" to mean "anything within the Chicago city limits."

You mean, can you park in a 'residents only' area for five days if you display five guest stickers? The answer is no. A guest sticker is for 24 hours and only 1 may be displayed at a time.
