Could you explain why the most dispicable form of torture imaginable would be just ?. Could you ever think of doing something remotely like it to your unbelieving neighbor yourself ?.

Answers like the bible says so or his thoughts and ways are not ours and beyond understanding, are not acceptable.

I can't be held responsible for what happens to the unbeliever after his/her death. For the record, I don't like dangling the threat of eternal torment over secular people's heads. They don't appreciate it, and neither do I-- it's lousy evangelism. Fear-based evangelism is lousy evangelism. It's not what Jesus would do.

Theo no one is holding you responible for anything. Do you have an opinion on why it's just to eternally torment someone ?, knowing at your worst you wouldn't even consider doing it the worst of your enemies.

It wouldn't be just and because I believe God is just, I don't believe He'll do so.

I agree.

I have no interest in debating eternal torment on this thread, i would just like to hear from those who believe in eternal torment to explain why it is just, and whether they could imagine themselves torturing unbelievers ?.

I have asked this question many times, and never got an adequate explanation ... About the closest i think anyone ever got to really answering that question when i asked it was somethings like, "if you sin against the eternal God then the punishment must also be eternal", or some other such nonsense.

Is that supposed to make "eternal God" happy?
"yay, my insulter is going to suffer for as long as I live!"
Freedom of thought and speach man. let your insulter attempt to insult you, all he is doing is insulting himself.

To make matters worse, many of the people that certain Christians believe will suffer eternal damnation haven't insulted God at all. They're simply Christians who see God somewhat differently than their critics. Millions of them love God with all their hearts.

I find it very interesting that the believers in eternal torture never respond in threads like this. I guess its too hard for them to justify their own horrid beliefs! I say... Bring it on! I want to see the view of human torture justified, or at least an attempt would be welcome.

The silence tells me NOONE is comfortable with this hellfire doctrine but they are terrified to stray from it or face the hellfire themselves. Catch 22. Stuck between a rock and a hard place so they simply ignore it and it seems to disappear from sight. Those who really think about hell all come to the same conclusion.....impossible!

True. There will be no defense for ET because it is indefensible and an embarrassment to those who must claim to believe it.
