A certain portion of Christians have been persecuted at various times. The Puritans used to whip Quakers and us Catholics had our churches or convents burned in the 1840s or so. This has been more persecution by other Christians, but I think until the 1940s the state would sometimes demand pacifist/anti-nationalist denominations serve in the military or pledge loyalty. In modern times Catholic hospitals are sometimes, effectively, forced to provide things that go against their faith or church properties get forced to recognize same-sex marriages.
This "Happy Holidays" thing though is weak and not a real example. Companies have understandable reasons to be inclusive and beside "holidays" has "holy day" kind of at root. And even the restrictions Christians face in the US are minimal compared to what they'd even face in France not to mention a country like Vietnam. So in some ways American Christians are a bit "whiny" or obsessed with things that would like minor inconveniences compared to what many of the world's Christians go through.
