I'm still crying. I understand why adversity. We would be too much like Him and not our own identity. We would already have it all from Him and not by Him for us. It's through adversity that we develop into individual personalities/souls. We are allowed to become who we are through the experiences, trials and tribulations that we have to endure. It''s because we choose differently but still make it back to Him through love--- this is what develops diversity.
We are allowed to disagree and choose different ways to deal with adversity, as long as we are giving the very best love that we understand at that time and growing from what we have learned. If we don't learn from our mistakes and grow from them, we will fall and fail in growth. We are even allowed to disagree--but then wait and listen, He'll correct you in your error.
If we don't have pain, we don't develop empathy, compassion, charity, forgiveness, hope, faith, grace, patience nor love. Without the downs we wouldn't recognize the ups. Without experiencing pain for ourselves we cannot learn to place ourselves in another persons shoes. We have to walk the path to understand and have compassion for their path, then may we help those who are weaker.

Adversity and persecution are the obstacles against which Christians test and strengthen the truth and strength of their faith and dependence on God.

'Mountain-top faith' often lacks deep roots, while faith developed in the 'Valley of the shadow of death' in this world - learns to truly depend daily on the Lord.

Adversity isn't just for Christians, it's for all mankind. It's the way to find Him, see Him and know Him. It requires much maturity to find Him in the face of adversity. Some run the other way because they can view Him as harsh and cruel in His methods. The more adversity that He delivers and you overcome--the stronger He views you and the more He wants to teach you--hence the more adversity He gives you. This creates ups and downs, arguments and disagreements with Him.I had hit a point of too much adversity and lost my temper with Him. Anger IS NOT the way to deal with Him. I made the mistake of calling Him arrogant with ego. He humbled me.

You remind me of Ivan:

Quote:
No character in The Brothers Karamazov is afflicted with more trauma or inner conflict than Ivan.

Unable to reconcile the horror of unjust human suffering—particularly the suffering of children—with the idea of a loving God, Ivan is consumed with doubt and argues that even if God does exist, he is malicious and hostile, and loves to torture mankind.

Ivan believes that human concepts of morality are dependent on the idea that the soul is immortal, meaning that people only worry about “right” and “wrong” behavior because they want to experience pleasure rather than pain in the afterlife.

Who are the righteous?

It is written; "The Lord hears the prayer of the righteous but He is far from the wicked."

"The Lord is righteous in all His ways and holy in all His works."

"The Lord has eyes for the just and ears for their cry when the just cry out the Lord hears them and He rescues them from all distress."

"The Lord is just; he loves righteous works; the upright shall behold his face."

"God is with the generation of the righteous."

" The righteous shall be kept safe forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off."

" The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever. "

Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him. Let all the upright of heart glorify Him.

" Give the king your justice, O God, and your righteousness to a king's son. May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice. May the mountains yield prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness."

"The heavens proclaim the Lords righteousness; and all the people behold his glory."

" Light dawns for the righteous, and joy for the upright of heart. "

The wicked man does deceptive work, But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.

"As righteousness leads to life, So he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise."

"The root of the righteous yields fruit."

" In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death."

"Those who pursue justice and kindness will find life, righteousness and glory."

"The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself."

"Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied."

" Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. They persecuted the prophets before you the same way.
