He didn't speak against riches in themselves, but the love of riches you could say. Less you become a wolf of wallstreet.

So the reason for Jesus talking against the love of riches was just that it can be bad for you? No political or other reason? Thanks

Nothing wrong with being rich. If God blesses you.....great. But the love of money is the root of all evil -- and oftentimes it becomes more important to us than God. That's a problem.

Did Jesus say that riches is the root to evil, or is that your opinion Vizio?

The Bible teaches what everyone here has said: love of money pulls people away from God. 1 Tim 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Now to get rich without loving it is hard, but not impossible.

On the other hand ... being poor is also not good as Solomon said:

ASV Proverbs 30:8 Remove far from me falsehood and lies; Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is needful for me:

Paul gave us a balanced view:

KJV 1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

The root of evil comes from the minds of wicked men, not their possessions.

Not just riches, but if you put anything to more value than what really matters, our relationship with Jesus, it can be a bad thing. Money and riches don't last forever. We should focus on the things that last forever.
