Matthew 12:38-40

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Scribes and Pharisees Ask for a Sign

38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”
39 But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

I ask this as these verses are the center of the whole 3 days & 3 night vs 3 days vs the 3rd day and Wed/ Thur/Friday being the possible day of the Death of Christ.

Is the Heart of the earth referring to when Jesus was taken into captivity or when he was laid in the tomb?

It is referring to His entombment in the earth.

"But more conclusive is the phrase "heart of the sea." It is applied to the place at which the Israelites crossed the Red sea (Ex.15:8). It describes the way of a ship upon the surface of the sea (Prov.30:19). But the most striking and instructive example is its fourfold reference to the city of Tyre, which was partly on an island on the coast of Canaan. Indeed, the island was so near the shore that Alexander the Great, in order to conquer it, built a mole out of the ruins of the shore city and thus connected it with the mainland. Tyre was far, indeed, from being in the center of the sea in any sense. And if Tyre might be described as being in the heart of the sea, what difficulty can there be in speaking of our Lord's tomb as "in the heart" of the earth? It may sound strange to us, but most natural to those who heard Him" (A.E. Knoch, Unsearchable Riches, vol.6).

DO you think when he said that, that me meant that he would be in there a full 3 days?

According to how the Jews reckoned day and night back then, yes, but does the Bible say it has to be three FULL days? Can the third day be a partial part of that day?

This is the Work of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ ....As the mystery of this miracle has be debated supported and denied since Jesus went through this , as only God the creator knows what happened in the Spirit ......... As the result Christianity is based on this miracle and with out this miracle then Christianity would be just another belief form like the other belief forms of the world

Dear Saan,
He meant 3 days and 3 nights.
The last supper was the Passover supper which happens on the previous evening of the 14th of Nissan (Preparation day). Jewish days always start on the previous evening .(Gen 1:5) He was taken from the cross before the beginning of the 15th of Nissan, which was Passover, and a high holy Sabbath, and not a 7th day Sabbath. The last supper didn't happen on a Friday, nor did he leave the grave on the morning of the first day of the week. He definitely did not rise on Easter, which is the pagan feast of Astarte. The Pauline paganize "Christian" church was established by Constantine, the emperor of Rome, and the chief priest of the Mithraic Sol Invictus pagan church. The pagan rituals were incorporated in the Roman church and subsequently into her daughter churches. There is little truth found in any of them. Here is a link to Sol Invictus, and you can compare the rituals between them.

Not really. In the week Christ died there were two sabbaths. Read 2ndPillar's post above this one.

A.E. Knoch goes deeply into the two sabbaths which occurred that week.
