Well, ........Your right in the fact your the wrong person to answer. Apparently you really don't believe God or Jesus .
God did send the flood and Jesus used it to warn us in His teaching !
As jimmyj stated....."Jesus spoke of the flood as a real event. ??? He didn't portray it as a contradiction."
Now in that book called the Bible,
you seem to believe the flood was a myth. So therefore you believe that Jesus used false ideas to tell/teach us truth
Definition of Myth: A widely held but false belief or idea.
Now why would the Lord Jesus want to deceive, lie...... in using a false idea/belief to be truth, too present the truth ?
Seriously, it is a shame !
As our Lord Jesus there was NO sin in Him and a false idea is a lie , a sin !
Not only does Jesus refer to the OT stories as literal events, the OT clearly outlines genealogy leading up to his birth (from Adam). This way we have a clear understanding of where our Savior comes from; his blood line as well as royal line and what it took to make a clear pathway for his coming. Not to mention, the prophecies of his coming.
To discard the OT in favor of the NT is discarding the truth and the full gospel of Christ in favor of a half truth that makes absolutely no sense without it's roots in the OT.
Wrong. You seem to be seriously misinformed about myths and fables They were designed to communicate important principles or concepts to primitive unsophisticated minds. Aesop's fables were not designed to teach false ideas! Parables were used for similar purposes. Those who take them as literal history or truth are misunderstanding them.

"Such trust have we through Christ to God-ward"
2 Corinthians 3: 2-4 (King James Version)
2Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
3Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
4And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
Devoted to message, which you read from a book which you consider to be in error......
The book has errors, yes. The message is not an error as confirmed by the Spirit (which incidentally is what the book says Jesus promised as a guide to all truth.... do you believe the book here?)
I wonder how many times I'm going to have to repeat this??
Devoted to message, which you read from a book which you consider to be in error......
You repeatedly misunderstand, Finn because of your all-or-nothing philosophy. The Bible CONTAINS God inspirations . . . it is not ALL inspired or inerrant because primitive minds and politically motivated men were responsible for its content. That is why we have Jesus and His Holy Spirit (Comforter) to guide us to the truth God has "written in our hearts."

I thought this just confirms we're under grace and not the law anymore, not that the OT events didn't happen or that they were written by savages.
What do you think of my post above; the OT describing the royal and blood lineage of Christ from Adam, and the prophecies of the coming Christ in the OT?
