Jesus prophesied that in the last days many false Christs’ would come: [Matt. 24:3 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many… For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect–if that were possible. Matt 13:6, 21 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people” Matt 24:11.]

Some presume that this can only refer to ‘false religious leaders’ who explicitly declare themselves to be Christ or God incarnate’ (such as, David Koresh, Jim Jones, Sung Myung Moon). While these radical fringe prophets and groups have deceived ”some”, hundreds or even thousands are hardly “many” in the context of today’s world or the world of the last days, of which Jesus spoke.

By explicit word, action and miracles, Jesus consistently authenticated His identity and the authority of His teachings against OT scripture (the Bible of that Day). Jesus also declared that He had not come to abolish scripture, but, to fulfill it (Matt 5:17). He did that in the ‘fulfillment’ of over 300 Old Testament Messianic prophecies and in modeling the New Testament (Today’s Bible & Gospel). Jesus also said that all people would one day be judged by the Word/s He had spoken (Jn 12:48). According to Christ, scripture (the Bible) and the Prophets (revealed in scripture) are the authoritative standard by which all people are to recognize and know God’s will and truth. Scripture (the Bible) is the only source Christians have of the actions, miracles and Words Christ spoke on earth. It is also the standard by which we are to recognize (and reject) “false Christs” and prophets.

The Bible does not preclude or contradict the leading of the Holy Spirit in Believers, NOR does the Holy Spirit contradict scripture and the teachings of Christ. Any portrayal of the Holy Spirit that does that, is clearly not the same ‘holy spirit’ of whom Jesus spoke and taught. Likewise, any portrayal of Jesus Christ, as other than the ‘Christ of the Bible,’ presents/teaches a “false Christ”! That is exactly what many well-meaning (or ignorant) people do when they ignore scripture (Bible) in favor of personal opinions and non-scriptural views (or even by claiming "The Bible says ....", when it says nothing of the sort!

When Jesus came to earth, many, including religious leaders, rejected His Messianic fulfillment of scripture (Bible) … because He did not meet their expectations of a ‘warlike king who would reign on an earthly throne.’ Ironically, ‘many’ today reject scriptural (Bible) teachings about the returning Christ as a Holy, conquering, warlike King of Kings (Rev. 19:11-15) … because that does not meet their expectations of a gentle, loving Christ whom they claim will ignore sin and welcome everyone into heaven. The latter is every bit as much a “false Christ” as David Koresh or Sun Moon!

These “false Christ’s,” of whom Jesus warned, are already in the world and deceiving “many!” They masquerade as ‘angels of enlightenment and love and peace, but, are actually “wolves in sheep’s clothing” who reject scripture and the very teachings of the Christ they profess to follow. ”Any portrayal of Jesus Christ, as other than the ‘Christ of the Bible,’ presents/teaches a “false Christ”!

Apparently, you are expecting a "warlike king" on an earthly throne - when he returns?

"Warlike" isn't the word I was looking for, but, Christ will return to earth leading armies out of heaven and making war on His enemies. As far as an 'earthly throne' is concerned, there isn't one mentioned in scripture ... beyond, perhaps, the Millennial period.

Still, along these lines, I've grown weary of what I believe is the 'false Christ' portrayed by many, ... who will return and always remain only a humble, suffering servant sacrificing Himself again and pleading with rebellious sinners to change their hearts - and receiving everyone into heaven, whether they believe and trust in Him - or not. He came once as the 'lamb' of God, but, will return as the LION of Judah!

Rev. 19:11-20 -- 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will [a]rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the [b]wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in mid-heaven, “Come, assemble for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of [d]commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great.”

19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.

False Christ or false Christians , or false prophets , still there are whole Christians who are condemned by people as false , and there are people who hold up the spirit of the false prophet which will undercut Lord Jesus and His Words and change with the times and make Christianity a lost religion or irrelevant , which it is not , or make God a tyrant which is just ignorance of truth .............. Then there are Christians who will love people in their own churches , but not people in different denomination of Lord Jesus .............. Then there are Christians who do not even believe in Jesus .............. Still many Christians walk in the promise of Christ and walk under the authority of grace of God and many miracles are every day event and have the direct sovereign with God in unity , But when they give God the glory they walk in humilities to the Lord and give up any false right of the strange false Christ may be

One can easily recognize a true believer as opposed to a false Christian.

A true believer always considers another person's feelings as more important than the believer's "rights." And he always considers another person's rights as more important than his, the believer's, feelings.

When you begin to look for folks who put their faith into practice with this principle, most of us fall into the category of "false Christians" regardless of what we believe about Jesus or the Bible.

If only more Christians practiced this, it would transform a large portion of the world.
