Yes, the catholic Church says Peter ministered to folks in Rome. But, the Protestant apologists say Peter never went to Rome (even though he died in Rome duh!!).

I don't think it is an important point.

Well there really is no evidence that Peter ever went to Rome but your church seems to be built on this and you guy's are the one's making the claims.

If Peter died in Rome, then he was in Rome.
But, Rome does not make the papacy.

The prominence of Peter has due to with the favoritism Peter received from Christ.

As I said, there is no evidence Peter was in Rome. Nor the Bishop of Rome either. Nor the leader of the church in this age of Grace.

The leader of Christendom is the Pope. It is what it is. When the Pope travels it is big news. If the Pope ever comes to your city you will see how big the pope is.

The Pope is a head of state and is always received by other heads of state. Francis is the leader of ALL world Christians and that includes you.

No it is not . . . Christ is the leader of Christendom and He abides with us as the Living Word of God.

You are using carnal and worldly reasoning and pretending it is about a spiritual reality. This is why carnal-mindedness is such a stumbling block to understanding God. The natural and carnal-minded man does not understand the spiritual at all. All the pomp and circumstance is strictly carnal and he has his reward.

But, the Poope is recognized as the Vicar of Christ by the world.

As long as Christ is not back all we have is the ambassador of Christ, Pope Francis.

This reveals that you do NOT believe the New Covenant. Christ is indeed back and alive and well. He abides with each of us. His Holy Spirit (Comforter) is within our consciousness to guide us to the truth God has "written in our hearts." Those who do not listen or who are waiting for a physical return have simply not understood things spiritually. They retain a carnal-minded view and remain confused. There is no Pope needed to represent Christ. Christ the LIVING Word of God does that quite adequately. There is no basis . . . historical, spiritual or otherwise . . . for the concept of a Pope, period.

I agree with you. Christ is within me 24/7. However, the Pope is still the the Vicar of Christ.

He is NOT the leader of all Christians at all. He certainly isn't the leader over me and I am Christian. He is a man and nothing more and I do not bow down to any man.
