It seems that Pope Francis is in strong favor of reforming the church. What do you think about this?
He's recently held the Synod of Bishops, which primarily focused on whether or not the church allows communion for homosexuals, and divorced and remarried Catholics.
Now, there is a Vatileak going on, and he appears to be furious.

What do you think?

This quote alone indicates he recognizes the sinkhole to nowhere that is Fundamentalism.

Quote:
"Before the problems of the church it is not useful to search for solutions in conservatism or fundamentalism, in the restoration of obsolete conduct and forms that no longer have the capacity of being significant culturally," the pontiff said at one point during his remarks.

I think this Pope is really a different kind in comparison to Pope's Benedict and John Paul 2. They were wonderful, but Benedict appeared to be a more theological pope who stuck to church doctrine and liturgy, similar with JP2 but he seemed to like to preach the message. Pope Francis seems to sway away from both and acted it out

It's interesting. But even the most powerful people in earth can often do little against a sclerotic, self-interested bureaucracy. Time will tell. And time really isn't on his side.

O don't worry. One day your pope will tell you ALL sins are good and jump right in.

I know all about that. I went to Catholic schools in the 50s and 60s. Public school kids would egg our bus and scream taunts. I got into more than one fist fight with them.
