So, you understood him saying that your faith is weak if you rely on the Bible.
There are plenty of people who find the Bible reliable, but how that should translate to them having weak faith is beyond me.
I think it is best to refrain from judging other peoples faith based on such weak argument.
Jesus and the Bible teaches to not judge, but maybe that is one of those things the 'spirit' tells some people to ignore.
Well the Bible does have plenty of good teachings and verses in it so I'd say that for a fact it CAN build strong faith. I just think their relationship with God and or faith shouldn't be limited to that.
I agree. But there are some verses in the bible of supernatural events outside the realm of the logic people outside christianity use which defy their logic and they do not understand the supernatural events of the bible. But many verses line with logic and reason, this should be known and said to all people outside christianity.

It is not limited to it. Like I said, The Holy Spirit (which resides in the believers) is our guide in our everyday lives and we honor God with our actions etc.

I agree. Not saying you don't, but for anyone out there just be patient and nice when dealing with people outside the realm of the Bible, and be christ like.
The verses in the Bible of light and wisdom definitely speak to logic and reason.
Sure. The question is which ones do not, and if they can be rejected because they are not in line with your reason and logic? The resurrection? The references to angels? Existence of heaven? If you make yourself the judge of what can be rejected because they do not line up with YOUR reason and logic, then you are indeed creating your own religion. Your religion would be whatever is true according to YOUR opinion.
Verses that say " the fools mouth deserves a beating" or the verses that call men fools after the bible says call no man a fool or the verse that has Jesus saying his servants are evildoers and hypocrites with a plank in their eye, or how about the whole book of rev.? How about most of proverbs? The antichrist speaks much, but when God speaks, he needs only to say a few words and the message is clear.
how about "wine is a mocker strong drink is a raging; whoever is deceived thereby is not wise." It's falsely claiming that wine or alcohol deceive people and is stronger than the human thought pattern and conscious. Sure it impairs you a little and frees the mind but people only die on alcohol if they drive and not nearly all people who do so die. And it doesn't CONTROL you it just gets you drunk and makes you want to have fun.

What is says it true. Alcohol can control you and get you to do things you would never do sober. I know a thing or two about that.
