It is claimed by many that the "Beloved Disciple" mentioned in the Gospel of John is the Apostle John. But does the Gospel of John even make this claim?

It would appear to be John from a surface reading, but I believe it was Lazarus (not John). Read all of the verses related to Lazarus and to the beloved disciple. All of them. Closely.
Also read the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man in the gospel of Luke.
I believe all 3 (counting the rich man) are the same person. And all the stories are parables. Which includes the entire gospel of John.

Just like in Revelation 21:14 , ....says ..``and the wall of the city (in heaven) had the name of the twelve apostles of the Lamb `` as the name could starts out as , Peter, Paul , James, John, Matthew, .............. Actually Jesus loved them all
