"MY HOUSE WAS DESTROYED BUT I'M GRATEFUL I LOST NONE OF MY FAMILY." This was said by a victim of Hurricane Harvey. The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Tim:[6] But godliness with contentment is great gain. [7] For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.[8] And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
None of us can belittle the terrible tragedies which have ravaged Texas and Louisiana last week, but those who survived can receive a little comfort if we remember the Serenity prayer, "God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to do the things I can change and the wisdom to know the difference.
We must pray for all the families and physically help them wherever we can.
