I am not a Calvinist but your constant denigration of the philosophy is prompting me to have second thoughts. Perhaps they are right after all?
I encourage EVERYONE to follow Calvinism who has never done so. You will eventually end up where I am. So I am glad that my honesty is leading you there.
I'm not an expert on Calvinism, but they are into predestination, which gets in the way of choice and choosing salvation. That goes against basic Christianity as shown by Jesus in the Gospels.
We only need the Bible for enlightenment and instruction, not different groups (and churches) run by man and man's organizations, reinterpreting what scripture says. Individuals readings scripture using their own eyes and brains is more than sufficient.

If your righteousness does not exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of heaven. Most of those who profess to be Christians have only entered a basic level of understanding (conversion) but are nowhere close to being (regenerated) Holy.
