Yes, you can't save a person from drowning if they keep refusing to at least get in the water. Sometimes... you just have to shove them in.

Yep, if anything is passed down it is the belief that we are born sinners. Is it any wonder folk have a hard time believing God sees them different to themselves.

Years ago i had a guy who worked for me(and friend) who never made known what he did sometime in his past( i had an idea), he sought forgiveness through every channel that he could(he was raised catholic). Not only could he not believe in the forgiveness of God for whatever he did, he couldn't forgive himself. To say this man was tormented was an understatement. I had to him send home a couple of times because he not only showed up drunk but brought super strength beer to work with him. He set himself on fire in his own garage, thankfully somehow he was found almost immediately. He ended up in a home and within a couple of years being there was found dead in a field close by. God never did this to him, not even whatever he did, did that to him, but the bad news that God is holding your sin against you unless you repent and become a christian did. The blame for this lies solely at the feet of bible fundamentalism that have lauded up sin as being greater than the super abounding grace of God.

RIP John

Try telling a judge in the court of law that you were born a murderer so you're not to blame for your crimes. The judge would respond: You are hereby sentenced to death. Court adjourned.

While you were born a sinner, you chose to remain one. You're to blame.
