How to get a backslidden partner back to the Lord?
I know I should pray & Trust the Lord...
What if each day seems to be knowing more n more of the sins he does & it really hurts?
I know I should forgive...
Why does God want to put me through this if we weren't meant to be together?
I know I shouldn't doubt and Trust the Lord...
Help!
Ody, very carefully reread your post..Don't you see that you have answered your questions In simple form here are your own answers, and they are very wise..Pray, trust the Lord, forgive, don't doubt the Lord
We don't know if you are speaking of a spouse, child, sibling, or if someone is abusing you, which of course you need advice about..I say if someone is sinning by abusing you, your loved ones and is putting someone in a dangerous situation, or his sins are causing you to sin, you should do all the above as you leave the relationship as soon as possible.

Im about to stir the pot.... not usually my thing, but here goes. You are right in saying you need to pray. Pray for their salvation. Let me give you a scripture I personally am dealing with for a friend of mine that God gave to me while dealing with like wise issues.
Hebrews 6:4-8 NIV
4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,
5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and all the powers of the coming age,
6 if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
7Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.
8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.
God Bless, Mandy

Verse 6, in my estimation, (I've studied it in detail) is speaking of a final apostasy, or turning away from the Lord. However, the Bible also shows that the true elect or chosen ones will be preserved until the end, and that they will not fall away. Therefore, it is in my opinion that if the Lord has chosen your partner, then He could be "molding him", or testing his faith. Imagine him being on the potter's wheel, spinning and spinning, struggling and fighting, and yet you are afraid he will fall off. Consider the fact that God will hold him on, and that God is in complete control. As if God is saying, "Relax, I've got you, I know what I'm doing". God's the boss. While yes, you should pray, I might add that I've been there before and worried for the salvation of my mate. And then one day I heard something that struck me.... it is not up to us. We cannot bring someone closer to Christ. Only the Holy Spirit can. I never forgot that, and it should be the basis for your thinking, lest you think you can do it on your own. Pray to the Lord, perhaps, to give you the strength to deal woth this difficult time and to work on your partner through His grace. Ask for the fruitages of the Spirit, namely "patience", and consider letting the Lord do His job. Anyway, who are we to question it? All we can do is pray and set a Christian example. I'll say a prayer for you.

And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient
for you, for My strength is made perfect in
weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
He is able to heal your hurt. Ask God to give you strength. I am by know means able to know if you are in an abusive relationship or not. But if you are, I am encouraging you to seek help especially if children are involved.
With that being said, half the battle is admitting you need help. Trust in God. You stated yourself that "you know that you need to pray" more.
Pray more. Ask your partner to acknowledge his ways. We need not let our sins hold us captive, confess them to God. Have you seek out counseling? Talk to your pastor perhaps? Talked to your partner about how the things that he's doing are affecting you? Start communicating. Be an example.
Go to Church more often. Or if you don't, find a sound bible believing body of Christ and start attending regularly. Sing, even when you don't feel singing. Cry out to God and He will hear you. In the midst of your pain, in your hurting, worship Him anyway! He is faithful to bring you through! Do your part. Then let the Holy Spirit do the rest!
Those are the things that I do when I feel uncomfy, pray & speak to God, hum a song...
I had a talk with my partner last night but I will not question if what I said to him is right or not, even though I did it in my bluntest way ever. I know God will make my path straight when I trust in Him.
And no worries, he's not abusing me. It's just that when he sin, makes me sin - being impatient with him and anger.
