This will be our PERSONAL APPLICATION thread on the Gospel according to John.
Here's the guidelines::
1-Starting tomorrow we will read a chapter a day until we are done with the book.
2-Try and make a post everyday if you can and feel inclined....at least let us know you are reading along with us even if you don't have any specific comments to share.
3-We are not reading these books of the bible to tell other people what it means or argue certain points. We are reading to APPLY TO OUR DAILY LIVES THE SCRIPTURES WE CLAIM TO FOLLOW. It is about you and your personal relationship with the Lord, not anyone else's. Are you seeking more of Him and how do these scriptures apply to that process?
4-IMPORTANT: Please pray DAILY for wisdom and discernment for the Lord to help YOU see what He wants YOU to see and then just share that experience with us.
No arguing, debating or combative discourse. If something comes up you'd like to debate, please start a new thread for that discussion.
Questions are always welcome. The only 'dumb' question is one not asked!
If as Christians we want to know Christ through exposure to the Word and observing how He acted and reacted, careful reading of the gospels is mandatory. So we will begin with Chapter 1 tomorrow, May 27th, and move on from there.
I may try to participate in this one too... Things have been very busy for me lately at work and at home so I haven't had many opportunities to do much of anything forum-related in the past month or so. I may not be able to keep up with a chapter a day but if I get the time and opportunity, I may post a random thought on whatever chapter people are on if I get the time.
Welcome back Alpha! I'm definitely ready to lace up my walking shoes. And it seems I'll be trying to keep steps with some very kind and generous souls, which is making me humble already

John Chapter 1
I have read this chapter 3 times....
Every single time...what came to me most was the verse in which John speaks of Moses' law and that now the grace and truth come through Jesus.
Let our minds and heart be open to the law...
IMO I live under grace...I am a sinner...so I repent asking forgiveness for breaking the law.
I try my best to live up to the law...but God knows I won't be perfect. Therefore I am under grace for I know the truth that Christ brought to us....
It is also in this chapter that I find my belief that God is the Word. Christ is the Word in flesh. So, if Christ is the Word in flesh and God is the Word...then Christ is also God.
to me this speaks " Have faith that Christ is here with you" Follow Him as others have followed, have faith and trust in Him.
