The song you posted brought a huge grin to June's face, and she actually sat here remembering your "Come as you are!" threads and she had to smile even more! (That's because it's a dateless Friday night, and June looks less than adorable!) --However, your song also inspired June to dredge up this oldie, that somehow fascinated her even back in the (existential) 60's!
Especially for you, Betsey! (Oh just say it June....say it...say it...ugh!)
-Okay: "Bless."
Not so much related to faith but I love this song... It makes me think of expanded horizons, capabilities, potential, heroics, and sadly enough...tragedy....
This song by X was written after singer Exene Cervenka's sister Muriel (Mary) was hit and killed in a car collision. The band's usual buzz-saw rockabilly punk guitar is made to sound more like the Doppler effect of speeding traffic. "On the dashboard rides a figurine/It's a powerless, sweet, forgotten thing."
