Robin,

It seems that the misunderstanding is because you have worded it like you are judging others in their relationship with Jesus -- your responsibility is your standing with Jesus - their responsibility is their standing with Jesus........

What I hear people saying is that they are saying that their heart is on God and Jesus and that you are overstepping the boundary by looking at how much soda people drink, what TV programs they watch,

I do agree that we need to discuss with each other what is right and good but it seems that how you word it is that we need to follow a set of listed rules only drink 3 sodas, do not watch more than 3 tV programs in a day and they can not be "........." or "........."

The 10 commandments are summed up as Loving God and loving your neighbour as yourself --- who is your neighbour (I believe everyone)

Why didn't you just post this as your OP and what does that have to do with drinking soda?? The petty examples are what you chose to make your point, you even expanded on the point later on by posting about westerns and Dr. Pepper and eating beef. ?? I guess you are saying that is where your heart is as you used yourself as an example. *shrug*

*hack* Please excuse me....my chocolate cookie is making my mouth dry...gonna get some coke to wash it down.

Focus on LOVE.

LOVE is the fullfillment of the law.
Where there is love, there is no need for the law, for there is nothing evil to restrain.

Your focus is on the wrong thing.
Stop focusing on sin. It is death. You are maybe not realizing it, but you are essentially trying to put chains and shackles on yourself and on others.
Christ has set you free from those chains and shackles. Are you going to turn around then and put them back on?

Meditate on the two commands. NOT on sin.
When you focus on sin continuously, that's like laying down in a coffin and hanging out for the fun of it.

I hope you understand what I'm saying here, friend.
peace.
Absolutely...

Rofl and make sure its only one ..........

Hmm just thinking that the sin would be not in the eating of something but in the lack of offering to someone else who you see in need, while you have more than enough.

find someone to offer a cookie and coke to.........

LOL...
I'm happy to share....but how do I know if that cookie is meeting a real need or serving as a stumbling block for those struggling with cookie sin?

Here, I'll offer a cookie to anyone, you each can pray and decide for yourselves if you should have one or if it will put you over the cookie limit. I just can't be held accountable if you overindulge.

Enjoy!! (or pray for forgiveness!!)

I think what often gets in the way is that when people say you have to have the heart of Christ there are many different implications. I realize someone can say you either accept Christ or you do not, but I would say we must do our best to see the image of in Christ in someone else rather than portray our own ideology as something someone else needs conform to before we find that acceptable..

I know people whose exhibit the heart of Christ, but religion will apply a label to them that will cause others to not acknowledge that heart because the person does not conform to their satisfactions. One good example is a friend I have that calls himself an atheist. If he has to believe in a God that cannot accept him for who he is, to understand his heart, to see his life and it be good enough then yes, he is an atheist. If someone sees that he does right for the sole reason that right is right to do, then he has the heart of christ every bit as much as someone who is "religiously correct".
