Alright, folks, straight from the heart of a lapsed Catholic dude

In the last few months, I have sort of strayed away from Catholicism. I was still a lip service catholic attending weekly mass and all. But the rosaries, daily church visits, volunteering, social work and other additives dried out. And much more.

I had a chat with my mother and she said the best way to get back on track is to practice fasting from the first Friday of the new month, and attempt moving closer towards spirituality. My father did this every month, when he lived.

Today, I took my pendants out of my locker, I'm fasting until noon and no meat until tomorrow. Any other suggestions?

The prodigal son in the only parable were a person left his family and went and sowed his wild oats, other than that there is no will of God to leave and sow his wild oats.......But Jesus came for the poor and who is the poor that he came for?.... In Luke 4:18... `` The Spirit of the Lord is upon me , because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor he hath sent me to to heal the brokenhearted to preach deliverance to the captives and recove sight to the blind, to set liberty them that are bruised. to preach an acceptable year of the Lord....``... If you can see yourself in any of these poor ways the Jesus is looking for you to help you again..... otherwise you could go to a diffrent Catholic Church or maybe a diffrent type of Church or pray for a new anointing of the love for God, to refresh your walk with the Lord Jesus.........

I know people are gonna accuse me of Bibliomancy, but here goes

I broke my fast at exactly 12. So I pulled my pocket Bible out and started to read something before the prayers, and John 5:19 popped out

I take it as a directive from the Almighty. Sort of divine intervention. That my first fast after several months and even years has been accepted. And here I was trying to do exactly what my father used to. His spirit is out there and is rejoicing at my emancipation?
