They only made it for 4 model years and gave it a slight redesign for the last year it was made (2008) But Dodge showed us in my opinion that the station wagon could actually be cool for once. Especially if it has the 5.7 or 6.1 Hemi
Who agrees the Magnum should be brought back?
I cant believe they got rid of it and replaced it with the Journey
no keep it buried the less models they have right now the better they need to stay with a few core cars and make them really good and really cheap to compete if they want to stay in business right now.
I'm not sure if it makes sense from a sales perspective but I actually really liked the Magnum. I remember when I saw it for the first time in downtown San Francisco and I asked the driver what kind of car it was and she told me she had it as a brand new rental. I thought that was a mean looking man wagon. The interior was still garbage as most Chrysler interiors are but in terms of exterior looks and engine performance, the V8 Magnum and 300C were great cars.
My dad bought a dark red '05 Magnum R/T Hemi when they first came out. He was ticked off that his 5.7L was replaced with a 6.1L a year or two later.
He liked the car but bought a boat so he traded it in for a truck. The only thing he complained about with the Magnum was the small rear view window and poor gas mileage as he thought the 4-cylinder drop off would give him better gas mileage on the highway.

The cylinder displacement system in the 5.7 hemis looks good on paper, but it doesnt do much for fuel economy, and the engine probably has to work harder to keep the car moving at highway speeds 55 mph+
But when the uninformed customer hears about the MDS system in the hemi motor, they buy it because they think they're ACTUALLY saving money on gas. I think it was really just another way for Chrysler to get people to buy high powered engines. Very clever
If i ever have the money for a Magnum, Charger, 300 or Challenger, it will be with the 6.1 Hemi v8. 13 mpg or not those cars with that motor are badass

I am a ford and chevy guy as I have stated but I would wait for the new 6.4 hemi and new charger if I were a mopar guy and it could have 475HP
dang....I hoped this was more related to the old Magnum (late '70s??) similar to one I've seen driving around lately. Memorable enough to stick in my mind instead of the newer one as being tougher with less effort at trying to look tough. That new wagon was pretty cool, but may ultimately end up being mostly seen as a symbol of pre-recession thinking. Bring back the old simplicity
I always liked the Dodge Magnum and thought it was cool. It defiantly was different and it was much neater and practical than a crossover type vehicle. Give me a station wagon any day over some half baked wussy ass truck. It is really too bad they are gone.

yeah but for dodge they had the 3 other models based off the LX platform and compared to the sales numbers of the Charger,300C and Challenger it never sold as well. so when they were bleeding cash and had to cut the fat it was magnum that got the axe.
